A refined mosaic of proposals for fluid living between indoors and outdoors, this year we celebrate the “Materia Natura” theme with an installation in the churchyard of Piazza San Marco that highlights the beauty of enjoying outdoor spaces surrounded by greenery, and an in-depth study dedicated to materials, colours, and finishes in the garden and cloister loggias.
Art, landscape, technology and architecture welcome experimentation, contamination and innovation, offer new scenarios, and pave the way for new visions.
Immersed in luxuriant nature, the original settings expand and enhance the cloisters with a series of proposals which, in the name of continuity and the design relationship between indoors and outdoors, is an expression of formal, material and aesthetic experimentation and hybridisation marked by creativity, know-how and sustainability.
For the second year, Livintwist participated as a partner in the VII edition of dOT–design Outdoor Taste, the most anticipated event dedicated to outdoor design & living, within the official circuit of the Brera Design District.
The location – one of the most iconic in the city of Milan: the churchyard and cloisters of the church of Piazza San Marco, an ideal space to present the world of outdoor furniture.
A historic place in the heart of the city that – for the days of Fuorisalone – changes its look, becoming a fascinating and convivial open-air lounge for industry professionals and, of course, for enthusiasts of outdoor design & lifestyle.
The doors of the cloisters of San Marco open to the heart of an exhibition which, in the name of continuity between indoors and outdoors, expresses formal, aesthetic and material experimentation, and hybridisation.
The seventh edition of dOT was an immense success, thanks to the collaboration of over 70 partners who, in an extraordinary show of strength, gave life to one of the most anticipated, visited and admired events in Milan, the world capital of design.
The Brera Design Week numbers show that this edition had a higher turnout than previous ones: there were 228 official events in the Brera Design District 2024 circuit (+8% compared to 2023), with the participation of over 500 companies and designers, along with 124 permanent showrooms involved in the official circuit, out of the 197 present in the district.
Over 60,000 people – including professionals, companies, institutions and design lovers – attended and appreciated the quality of the proposals showcased in the name of beauty and innovation in the churchyard and cloisters of the church of San Marco.
From 16 to 21 April, in fact, the main entrance to Brera (the churchyard of San Marco) transformed into a spectacular setting for outdoor design installations.
In addition to the particularly extensive exhibition programme, there was no lack of opportunities for cultural insights.
In the churchyard, four site-specific installations by Studio Batoni, Lorenzo Guzzini, Ioda Studio and Silvio De Ponte explored the relationship between man and nature, space and sensoriality, objects and materials, time and feelings.
From the monoliths presented by Studio Batoni – a perspective-based experience in interaction with the environment – to the emotional journey through volcanic darkness presented by Lorenzo Guzzini, going on to the refined concept of a metropolitan rooftop by Ioda Studio and the city of dreams, dialogue and harmony by Silvio De Ponte, the architectural works sparked more than reflection on the relationship between ecosystem and artifice.
Likewise, the surprising “Bosco Incantato”, created by garden designer Filippo Fessia, drew great admiration from visitors to dOT and passers-by along via San Marco.
Inside, the “dialoghi sulla panchina” offered interesting discussions on the themes of fashion, urban furniture and sustainable design.
In turn, the small cloister opened its doors to the auditorium for a meeting with students from the School of Architecture, Urban Planning and Construction Engineering of the Milan Polytechnic, organised by the company Agglotech.
The 2024 edition is the story of a success that confirms dOT as the most important showcase for outdoor design and inside out living in the heart of the Brera Design District – the most visited and appreciated district by professionals and design lovers alike, and the most requested by companies – right in the centre of Milan, the “world design capital”.
The Brera Design District was a great opportunity for us to share our new collections with design professionals and enthusiasts, and to get their opinions and thoughts on the latest Livintwist creations.
Designed by Jinghua Zeng, the Apsaras collection is a fusion of outdoor furniture and Buddhist tradition.
Referring to the sinuosity and vitality of the Apsaras – spirits of the clouds and waters in Hindu and Buddhist mythology – the characteristic is an iconic profile that evokes the artistic rejuvenation of this precious ancient culture.
Handwoven by skilled weavers, it has a sinuous but solid structure that exudes beauty, history and emotions.
Designed by Frank Chou, the Space collection is the result of a study on fluid, dynamic lines that explore space and come together in this collection of outdoor products.
The result is a dynamic effect and a sense of infinite extension, enhancing its fluidity. The contrast under the light emphasises the simplicity of the design.
In addition to the new collections presented alongside our classic ones, Fuorisalone 2024 marked a turning point for us, as for the first time we unveiled a preview of the prototypes of our outdoor lamps.
These products were highly appreciated by visitors, and given their success, they will be fully finalised and put into production, making them available from August 2024.
Created by designer and architect Claudio Bonicco, Nina is a collection of outdoor lamps inspired by the timeless grandmother parlour lamp.
The frame of the lamp is made of aluminium and reinvents the archetypal shape to achieve a mix of tradition and contemporary design.
The lamp is divided into two parts: the lower part is a powder-coated tubular aluminium profile, while the upper part is a lattice of tubular elements with coloured, vertically woven rope.
The collection consists of a floor and table lamp, suitable for both indoor and outdoor use.
Now that we have completed our third participation at this important world design event, we return ‘home’ satisfied with having created yet another opportunity to connect with professionals and companies for potential collaborations—bringing our creative philosophy to the outdoor spaces of people’s homes.
Wherever there is a desire to spend time with loved ones or simply carve out some free time – away from the hustle and bustle of everyday life – our creations are the perfect addition to those special moments spent in the garden, on the terrace, by the pool after a hard day’s work or a tiring week.
The real luxury of life?
Quality leisure time with family and friends.
We are taking our philosophy all over the world, because ever since Design Week we haven’t stopped and have continued to forge new partnerships with prestigious locations all over the world – driven by the desire to let people experience our creations firsthand, by touching the materials and testing their comfort.
Where can you find them? Here are a few:
Prestigious locations, where we have found the same values that we believe in, and on which we have founded our company.
On this page we have listed all the showrooms you can go into and ask about Livintwist. They will be happy to welcome you and show you all our creations!
The future of outdoor furniture is set to become increasingly integrated with the natural and social context in which we live.
The challenge for designers and manufacturers such as Livintwist is not only to continue innovating in design and materials, but also to anticipate and respond to changes in global lifestyles. In this context, events such as Fuorisalone are not only a showcase of excellence for presenting new ideas, but also a living laboratory where we can directly experience the public’s reactions and interact with professionals from various parts of the world. With its philosophy of combining beauty, functionality and sustainability, Livintwist is at the forefront of this evolution, offering solutions that not only decorate outdoor spaces, but transform them into a vibrant, welcoming and inspiring environment.
In addition to the products, we also aim to focus on building a community around the brand. During Fuorisalone, our stand became a meeting point for enthusiasts, onlookers, and professionals, creating an atmosphere of open dialogue and exchange of ideas that went far beyond a mere trade show.
It is this ability to create connections, to inspire and be inspired, that defines the true success of a brand in the contemporary design context.
In conclusion, the 2024 edition of Fuorisalone marked another important chapter in our history. Each interaction, each piece of feedback received, and each new connection represents an additional piece in the mosaic of a brand that never ceases to explore, innovate and surprise. As we look to the future, we are filled with enthusiasm for the upcoming challenges and new opportunities that await us, confident that our commitment to creating unique and bespoke outdoor spaces will continue to resonate with an ever-growing and diverse audience.
In the hope of meeting again in Milan, or in one of our showrooms around the world, we invite you to continue following Livintwist, to discover together the infinite possibilities of outdoor design.
